Gore Quarry, Radnorshire, Wales

The Gore quarry is a key site for Tarmac, supplying high-quality materials both in the UK and globally. Known for its unique geology, the quarry produces premium high PSV aggregates, essential for high-speed surfaces like motorways and runways. To support a large-scale expansion and meet demand, Tarmac conducted a drill program to model subsurface stratigraphy and assess aggregate reserves. This included logging diamond drill cores, trial pitting, and geological face mapping to refine the geological model and expansion plans.
